Iran has reaffirmed its support for the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, emphasizing its importance for lasting stability in the South Caucasus.
Speaking at a press conference in Tehran, Spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Esmail Baghaei said the joint statement reflects the decisions of the two countries’ authorities and is crucial for fostering peace in the region, The Caspian Post informs per local media.
Commenting on the president’s visit to Armenia, Baghaei noted that the trip is unrelated to the Azerbaijan-Armenia agreement. The visit, planned in advance, aims to strengthen cooperation with neighboring countries. After Armenia, the president is scheduled to travel to Belarus.
