Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh has called on the United States to ensure that Israel adheres to the terms of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) reached between Washington and Tehran.
Khatibzadeh said Iran remains committed to the diplomatic track and is prepared to continue negotiations, The Caspian Post reports, citing Al Jazeera.
“We are ready to move forward step by step if the other party demonstrates the same seriousness,” he stated.
According to Khatibzadeh, Iran is pursuing “peace on all fronts, including Gaza.” He noted that Lebanon was included in the MOU due to its direct link to the ongoing conflict.
“There will be no peace or stability in Lebanon and the region without ending the occupation and Israel’s commitment to international law,” he said.
Addressing the Strait of Hormuz, Khatibzadeh said Iran will continue providing navigation services in coordination with Oman and in line with international law.
He added that Tehran will not impose transit fees during the 60-day period specified in the agreement. However, he noted that a new framework for managing the strategic waterway will be introduced afterward and presented to countries in the region.
Khatibzadeh also emphasized that any future agreement must include the release of all Iranian funds that remain frozen abroad.
