Israel announced it has carried out a powerful strike on Iran’s strategic defense infrastructure, marking a significant escalation in tensions between the two countries.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it launched a large-scale attack targeting elements of Iran’s strategic defense system, citing intelligence data as the basis for the operation, The Caspian Post reports via IDF.

“Acting on intelligence guidance, the IDF carried out a massive strike on the strategic defense system belonging to the Iranian regime,” the military said in a statement.

According to the IDF, one of the key targets was an advanced SA-65 air defense system located near Kermanshah in western Iran.
