Kyrgyz Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev has met with Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref, who visited Kyrgyzstan as an observer to the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council session, to discuss key areas of bilateral cooperation, including trade, investment, and transit-transportation.
Kasymaliev emphasized the importance of friendly relations between the two countries and the potential for expanding trade and joint investment projects, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
Both sides highlighted the positive momentum in bilateral contacts at various levels. The prime minister welcomed the signing of a framework memorandum of understanding to establish the Kyrgyz-Iranian Investment Office, with plans for its prompt launch.
In turn, Aref expressed interest in further enhancing cooperation across all mutually beneficial areas. He proposed resuming direct air links between cities in Kyrgyzstan and Iran to facilitate business, increase tourism, and strengthen cultural exchange. Additionally, he suggested establishing sister-region partnerships to deepen regional-level collaboration.
The meeting reinforced the commitment of both nations to strengthen economic, cultural, and regional ties.
