Israeli media outlets report that Israel believes Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei may have been killed in an Israeli strike on February 28 morning.
There is a “high probability” that Khamenei was killed in the attack. However, there has been no official confirmation of the claim, The Caspian Post reports via Israeli media.
Israel’s assessment was that Khamenei had “at least been wounded.” This evaluation was not based on satellite imagery showing destruction at the ayatollah’s presidential compound, but rather on intelligence from unnamed sources.
Reports suggest Khamenei is expected to deliver a public address shortly. If such a speech takes place, it may have been recorded in advance.
Today’s strikes caused “very significant damage” to the leadership of the Iranian regime and its military commanders.
