Under the decree, adopted in accordance with Article 7 of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On International Treaties of the Republic of Tajikistan,” the government resolved to:

Strengthening Bilateral Mobility
Tajikistan and Iran have been actively expanding cooperation in the field of visa facilitation. A visa-free travel agreement between the two countries came into force on August 10, 2024, allowing citizens to visit each other’s territories for up to 90 days per year, with the first stay limited to 30 days. Initially, the arrangement applied only to passengers traveling by air between Dushanbe and Tehran.
The MoU on visa exemption for holders of international passports was originally signed in Dushanbe on November 8, 2023, during Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi’s official visit to Tajikistan.
In December 2023, Iran’s Cabinet unilaterally lifted visa requirements for citizens of 33 additional countries, including Tajikistan. Following this, the government of Tajikistan formally approved the MoU on January 3, 2024, marking another step toward deepening diplomatic engagement and facilitating greater mobility between the two nations.
