The US military says it has destroyed the headquarters of Iran’s powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in a large-scale strike that marks a dramatic escalation in tensions.

In a statement posted on social media, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) declared: “America has the most powerful military on earth, and the IRGC no longer has a headquarters,” The Caspian Post reports via CENTCOM.

“Cut Off the Head of the Snake”

According to CENTCOM, the strike specifically targeted the command center of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps - a key pillar of Iran’s military and regional operations.

“The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) killed more than 1,000 Americans over the past 47 years. Yesterday, a large-scale U.S. strike cut off the head of the snake,” the statement read.

Officials did not immediately release details about the location of the headquarters or the scale of damage. Casualty figures have not been disclosed.

Video Surfaces Online

A video circulating online purports to show the aftermath of the strike, with explosions and smoke rising from a targeted compound. The footage quickly spread across social media, though independent verification remains limited.

The IRGC plays a central role in Iran’s defense strategy and oversees elite units involved in regional operations. Any confirmed destruction of its headquarters would represent one of the most significant direct blows to Iran’s military structure in recent years.
