The United States is set to deploy a third aircraft carrier to the Middle East to support ongoing military operations related to the war with Iran.
The USS George H.W. Bush will cross the Atlantic Ocean and head toward the eastern Mediterranean, The Caspian Post reports, citing Fox News.
The deployment comes after the USS Gerald R. Ford carrier strike group entered the Suez Canal and sailed into the Red Sea.
With the arrival of the USS George H.W. Bush, it would become the third U.S. aircraft carrier positioned near Iran as tensions continue to escalate in the region.
The carrier could also participate in potential operations against Yemen’s Houthi forces if they become involved in the hostilities.
