Air China has officially launched direct flights between Beijing and Almaty, Kazakhstan, marking a significant step in enhancing connectivity between the two countries.
The inaugural flight was celebrated with a ceremony at Almaty International Airport, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazakh media.
The new service will operate four times weekly-Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays-using Boeing 737 aircraft under flight numbers CA799 and CA800.
Chen Zhaozhen, General Manager of Air China’s Almaty office, said the route will serve as a crucial air bridge to boost economic cooperation, cultural exchange, and tourism between China and Kazakhstan.
Galiya Toxeitova, Head of Almaty’s Tourism Department, praised the route’s launch, noting it will facilitate easier travel and expressed hopes to expand flight frequency to further benefit travelers and regional development.
Separately, Etihad Airways announced plans to begin direct flights from Abu Dhabi to Almaty and Tashkent starting in 2026, underscoring growing international connectivity in Central Asia.
