Kazakhstan and Pfizer are advancing cooperation on a major healthcare investment project aimed at expanding access to modern medical solutions and strengthening the country’s pharmaceutical sector.
The discussions were held between First Deputy Foreign Minister Yerzhan Ashykbayev and Dmitriy Kozenkov, General Director of Pfizer Kazakhstan LLP and head of the company’s subcluster covering Kazakhstan, Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Mongolia (CauCAR). Representatives of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Healthcare also took part in the meeting, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.
The talks focused on the implementation of Pfizer’s investment initiatives in Kazakhstan’s healthcare system, with both sides emphasizing long-term partnership and strategic development in the sector.
Ashykbayev highlighted Pfizer’s role as a key international partner in healthcare and pharmaceuticals, stressing the importance of creating stable and predictable conditions for investment in medical projects.
Improving investment climate is essential for attracting global pharmaceutical companies and ensuring sustainable access to innovative treatments.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation and expanding joint initiatives aimed at modernizing Kazakhstan’s healthcare infrastructure and improving patient access to advanced medicines.
Earlier, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Healthcare Akmaral Alnazarova also held talks with World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on the sidelines of the 79th World Health Assembly, further highlighting the country’s active engagement in global health partnerships.
