ExxonMobil Reaffirms Long-Term Partnership With Kazakhstan

ExxonMobil has reaffirmed its commitment to long-term cooperation with Kazakhstan, signaling continued confidence in the country’s energy sector and reform agenda.

During talks with Kazakh officials, ExxonMobil representatives highlighted the importance of stable investment conditions and clear long-term priorities as global competition for capital intensifies, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.

Asset Irgaliyev, Advisor to the President and Chairman of Kazakhstan’s Strategic Planning and Reforms Agency, met with ExxonMobil executives led by Senior Director for International Government Relations Yuri Kim. The discussions focused on investment sustainability, economic reforms, and the future of Kazakhstan’s oil and gas industry.

ExxonMobil, one of the largest foreign investors in Kazakhstan, has been active in the country since 1993 and plays a key role in major energy projects including Tengiz, Kashagan, and the Caspian Pipeline Consortium.

Irgaliyev stressed that Kazakhstan is advancing political and economic reforms aimed at building a modern and sustainable development model. He noted that global competition today extends beyond natural resources to include technology, human capital, and adaptability to rapid changes.

He also emphasized that while oil and gas remain a cornerstone of Kazakhstan’s economy, the sector offers significant opportunities for technological modernization and new growth.

Yuri Kim praised Kazakhstan’s progress since gaining independence and said international investors value transparency regarding reforms and long-term development priorities.

The meeting comes amid continued high-level engagement between Kazakhstan and ExxonMobil. Earlier, Samruk-Kazyna CEO Nurlan Zhakupov and ExxonMobil Senior Vice President Peter Larden discussed key energy projects and future cooperation in Kazakhstan.
