At the festival, the Astana Ballet Theatre will present its acclaimed production, The Heritage of the Great Steppe. Choreographed by Aigul Tati, an Honoured Worker of Culture of Kazakhstan, the program offers a rhythmic homage to the rich beauty and diversity of Kazakh culture. The performance blends lyrical, contemplative pieces with dynamic and expressive miniatures, filled with deep philosophical imagery. Its striking costumes and set design vividly portray the nomadic heritage and natural harmony of the vast Great Steppe.
Featuring a range of styles and artistic techniques, the choreography highlights Kazakhstan’s historical traditions alongside its breathtaking natural landscapes. The production’s visual splendor, compelling narrative, and colorful costumes combine to captivate audiences worldwide.
Participation in the Cheonan festival marks an important milestone for the Astana Ballet Theatre in expanding international cultural cooperation. Taking the stage in South Korea offers a unique opportunity to showcase Kazakhstan’s rich cultural legacy to a global audience, foster cultural understanding between the two nations, and reinforce dance as a universal language that connects people beyond borders.
In related developments, Tajikistan’s Ayni Opera and Ballet Theater and Kazakhstan’s Karaganda Academic Theater of Musical Comedy recently signed a memorandum of cooperation, promoting further artistic exchange within the region.
