Azerbaijan's Baku TV and Report News Agency, both part of Global Media Group, have signed a cooperation memorandum with one of Kazakhstan’s largest and most influential media organizations - the Khabar Agency.
The signing ceremony took place in Astana on November 18, The Caspian Post informs via local media.
The document was signed by Ramin Jafarov, Director of Baku TV; Fuad Huseynaliyev, Director General of Report; and Kemelbek Oishibayev, Chairman of the Board of Khabar Agency.
The event was attended by Orkhan Mammadov, Board Member of Global Media Group, and Aghalar Atamoglanov, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Kazakhstan.
Speaking at the ceremony, Atamoglanov emphasized that the new partnership will make a significant contribution to strengthening media cooperation across the region. He noted that deeper coordination in the media sphere will give new momentum to the longstanding friendly relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
In turn, Oishibayev described the agreement as an important step toward advancing strategic cooperation between Azerbaijani and Kazakh media outlets. “This collaboration will create opportunities to exchange modern technological solutions in news production and expand content-based cooperation. The memorandum reflects mutual trust and a strong, resilient partnership,” he said.
Mammadov added that the agreement between Baku TV, Report, and Khabar opens up new synergy across the information space of the South Caucasus and Central Asia. “This partnership is not only about content exchange - it also strengthens professional standards between the leading media organizations of both countries. The practical results of this cooperation will become visible in the near future,” he noted.
The memorandum outlines plans for joint television and media projects, experience-sharing in news production, enhanced content exchange, and the development of new formats.
This marks Baku TV’s second regional agreement in recent months. A month earlier, the channel signed a similar memorandum with Uzbekistan’s “Uzbekistan 24” TV channel. The new partnership with Khabar reinforces Baku TV’s strategic focus on expanding cooperation across Central Asia.
