Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan Boost Nuclear Ties for Peaceful Energy Cooperation

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy, Parviz Shahbazov, and Almasadam Satkaliyev, Chairman of Kazakhstan’s Atomic Energy Agency, have held talks to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the nuclear sector and promote the peaceful use of nuclear technologies.

The discussions centered on sharing expertise in regulatory oversight, nuclear and radiation safety, environmental monitoring, and the handling of radioactive materials, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakhstan’s Atomic Energy Agency.

Both parties also highlighted the significance of specialist training and professional development, alongside exploring opportunities to implement advanced nuclear technologies.

“Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are brotherly nations, bound by deep-rooted ties and a mutual dedication to advancing safe and peaceful nuclear energy. We aim to continue exchanging expertise and enhancing cooperation for the benefit of our countries and the wider region,” Satkaliev said.

The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to further deepen their collaboration and develop their partnership in the peaceful use of atomic energy.
