Gedik Kaynak, the sole electrode manufacturing company in Azerbaijan, has dispatched its second 100-ton shipment of electrode products to Turkmenistan, as part of a phased export plan totaling 600 tons.
The company, based in the Neftchala Industrial Quarter, had sent its first shipment just days earlier and plans to complete the full export volume in upcoming stages, The Caspian Post informs via local media.
This move marks a significant step in boosting trade ties and expanding the reach of Azerbaijani industrial products in Central Asia.
Taleh Salmanov, the company’s director, stated that Gedik Kaynak has been a registered resident of the Neftchala industrial zone since 2021. The facility currently manufactures two types of electrodes in eight sizes, catering to both domestic demand and foreign markets.
Looking ahead, the company plans to diversify its product range by launching stainless steel and aluminum electrodes, signaling a push toward more advanced manufacturing capabilities.
With a monthly production capacity of 330 tons, Gedik Kaynak operates a plant built with a 7.5 million manat ($4.411 million) investment and currently employs more than 20 permanent staff. The firm’s products are sold under the “Geka” brand in Azerbaijan and exported to Iraq, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. Negotiations are underway to expand exports to Russia and Kazakhstan.
