The Sheraton Grand Doha Hotel has welcomed dignitaries and guests for Turkmenistan’s 34th Independence Day and the 30th anniversary of its neutrality in a grand celebration of statehood and diplomacy.
The event was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the State of Qatar and gathered an esteemed audience of Qatari government officials, including Minister of Labor Ali bin Saeed bin Samikh Al-Marri, representatives from the foreign ministry, heads of public organizations, foreign diplomatic missions, journalists, and Turkmen students currently pursuing studies in Qatar, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.
In his welcoming address, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Qatar, Mr. M. Seyitmammedov, highlighted the country’s transformational progress since gaining independence. He emphasized major achievements across economic, political, cultural, and humanitarian spheres, noting Turkmenistan’s increasingly active role in regional and international affairs.
The ambassador paid tribute to the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, for their strategic vision in guiding the country’s development. He specifically referenced their contributions under the banner of the Year of International Peace and Trust, framing them as key pillars of Turkmenistan’s domestic and foreign policy success.
A documentary video presentation further illustrated Turkmenistan’s advances in industry, transportation, agriculture, education, and culture, and spotlighted the nation’s commitment to expanding global partnerships.
Beyond formalities, the evening offered an immersive cultural experience. Guests enjoyed performances of traditional Turkmen music, culinary displays, and a selection of authentic Turkmen dishes, reflecting the country's rich cultural heritage and hospitality traditions.
