Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has welcomed the launch of Euronews broadcasting in the Kazakh language following talks with Euronews Chairman Pedro Vargas David, marking a new milestone in Kazakhstan's growing international media presence.
The meeting focused on expanding cooperation between Kazakhstan and one of the world's leading international news networks. Tokayev praised Euronews for its reputation for impartial journalism and trusted global news coverage, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.
The president noted that since opening its regional office in Astana in 2024, Euronews has significantly expanded its reporting on Kazakhstan and Central Asia, bringing the region to a wider international audience.
Tokayev described the launch of Kazakh-language broadcasting as a strong symbol of the deepening partnership between Kazakhstan and the European media outlet.
Pedro Vargas David announced that Kazakh will become the first Central Asian language to join the Euronews broadcasting lineup, underscoring the country's growing importance on the global stage.
The meeting also reviewed the outcomes of Tokayev's recent official visit to Brussels. Vargas David said European audiences responded positively to the president's Euronews opinion article outlining a vision for a stronger strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and the European Union.
Both sides also discussed new joint initiatives aimed at strengthening Kazakhstan's international visibility, integrating Central Asia into the global media landscape, and promoting the country's political, economic, and cultural achievements to audiences worldwide.
