Kazakhstan’s 2025 harvest campaign is showing strong results, with grain crops harvested from nearly 99 per cent of sown areas, covering 15.8 million hectares.
Legume crops are also hitting record volumes, surpassing 1 million tons, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Corn (77 per cent harvested) and oilseeds (74 per cent harvested) are still in the fields, while potatoes (3 million tons), vegetables (3.9 million tons), and melons (2.6 million tons) are already collected.
The success is attributed to early financing for spring fieldwork and the timely use of fertilizers. So far, 502 billion tenge of the 700 billion tenge allocated for the sowing campaign has been used, while preferential financing for 2026 is already underway.
To modernize farming machinery, over 253 billion tenge in applications have been submitted for leasing, renewing about 8,000 agricultural units. The Damu Fund has also issued 1,336 guarantees totaling nearly 197 billion tenge, assisting farmers access preferential loans.
Grain storage facilities are 40 per cent full, holding 5.4 million tons, with 7.8 million tons of additional capacity available. Since the start of the harvest, 6.7 million tons of grain have been delivered to elevators-double last year’s volume. More than half is third-grade grain.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture Azat Sultanov noted that sugar factories started receiving new-season sugar beet in early October. The Zhetysu region has already harvested 154,000 tons, supported by an electronic queue system at the Aksu Kant plant to prevent congestion.
Kazakhstan has also increased new-season grain exports by 14 per cent, reflecting the country’s booming agricultural output.
