Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev touched down in Washington, D.C., where he was warmly welcomed by US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau.
During his visit, the Kazakh leader is set to hold high-level talks with US President Donald Trump and take part in the C5+1 Summit, a key platform bringing together the United States and the five Central Asian nations to discuss regional cooperation and security, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Earlier in Astana, US Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor delivered greetings from President Trump to Tokayev, emphasizing the strategic role of Central Asia in US foreign policy.
