Kazakhstan Advances Carbamide Production Project with Scientific Verification

KMG PetroChem, together with the Kazakh National Academy of Sciences, has launched scientific verification of a carbamide production project in Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of Energy explained that the initiative aims to confirm the effectiveness of using domestically produced fertilizer and boost agricultural productivity, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

In 2025, field trials began across four regions, covering 600 hectares, to collect data that will help develop practical recommendations for farmers.

The project focuses on building a gas-chemical complex in the Aktobe region, with a planned capacity of 880,000 tons of carbamide annually.

Once completed, the complex will create up to 2,000 jobs during construction and 400 permanent positions during operation.

The initiative will also strengthen Kazakhstan’s fertilizer production capabilities and enhance the country’s export potential.

Earlier reports highlighted plans to build a $1.35 billion ammonia and carbamide plant in the Mangistau region, further supporting Kazakhstan’s growth in the chemical industry.
