Kazakhstan Halts Oil Exports to Germany via Druzhba Pipeline Until September

Kazakhstan has temporarily suspended crude oil exports to Germany through the Druzhba pipeline for July and August 2026 due to technical constraints affecting transit infrastructure.

The Ministry of Energy said oil shipments along the Atyrau-Samara-Druzhba route have been paused because of infrastructure-related issues on the transit side, making deliveries to Germany impossible during the two-month period, The Caspian Post reports via TASS.

"At present, supplies of Kazakh oil via the Atyrau-Samara-Druzhba pipeline route toward Germany are temporarily not being carried out due to technical infrastructure constraints on the transit side. Accordingly, exports of Kazakh oil to Germany are not planned for July and August 2026," the ministry said.

Kazakhstan emphasized that the interruption is temporary and reaffirmed its long-term strategy of diversifying crude export routes to European markets to ensure stable and reliable energy supplies.

Oil deliveries to Germany will resume once the technical transit issues are resolved, with further updates to be provided as the situation develops.

The latest disruption follows changes introduced on May 1, when Kazakhstan began rerouting part of its crude exports because of technical limitations affecting the Druzhba pipeline.

Under the revised logistics scheme, a portion of Kazakhstan's oil exports has been redirected through Russia's Ust-Luga port and the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) system, allowing shipments to continue while transit-related problems on the Druzhba route are addressed.
