Kazakhstan Honors Citizens Abroad with Republic Day Awards

Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva has announced on Facebook that several Kazakh citizens who were honored on Republic Day received their awards.

Balayeva noted that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev had recognized employees from various sectors for their contributions to the economy and public life, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Some awards were delayed because recipients were abroad.

Among the honorees:

Karlygash Kalilakhanova, former head at the International Center for Interfaith Dialogue - Order of Kurmet (Honor)

Imanbek Zeikenov, Kazakhstan’s first Grammy winner - Order of Kurmet (Honor)

Yerkebulan Toktar, actor - Honored Worker of Kazakhstan

Balayeva wrote on Facebook: “It was a great honor for me to present the awards to my compatriots.”
