Travel between Kazakhstan and Mongolia is set to become much easier as Kazakhstan’s SCAT Airlines launches a new direct flight route connecting Astana and Ulaanbaatar starting June 2, 2026.
The new air link between the capitals of Kazakhstan and Mongolia is one of the key outcomes of high-level agreements reached during the state visits of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Mongolia in 2024 and Mongolia's President Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh to Kazakhstan earlier this year, The Caspian Post reports via Orda.kz.
According to SCAT Airlines, flights from Astana will operate every Tuesday and Friday, while return flights from Ulaanbaatar are scheduled for Wednesdays and Saturdays. The journey will take approximately three hours and 35 minutes.
Kazakh citizens traveling to Mongolia for tourism or private visits of up to 90 days do not require a visa. However, travelers must ensure their passports remain valid for at least six months beyond the end of their trip.
