Kazakhstan, Qatar Hold Third Round of Political Consultations, Eye Deeper Strategic Partnership

Kazakhstan and Qatar have held the third round of political consultations in Astana, bringing fresh momentum to their growing strategic partnership.

The talks were led by Kazakhstan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Alibek Bakayev and Qatar’s Foreign Ministry Secretary General Ahmed Hassan Al-Hammadi, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding multifaceted cooperation and strengthening long-term ties.

The dialogue focused on boosting political interaction, enhancing coordination between the foreign ministries, and exploring new avenues for bilateral collaboration. Officials highlighted the importance of implementing agreements reached during last year’s high-level meetings between the leaders of both countries in Astana and Doha - seen as a key foundation for future cooperation.

Economic and investment partnerships were a major topic, with discussions covering joint projects in energy, finance, telecommunications, agriculture, logistics, and digital technologies.

Cultural and humanitarian cooperation also featured prominently, as both sides emphasized deeper people-to-people ties.

Kazakhstan and Qatar additionally exchanged views on major international and regional developments, noting their aligned positions on global security and sustainable development. They praised productive cooperation within platforms such as the UN, OIC, CICA, and IOFS.

The meeting follows earlier discussions between the two nations focused on strengthening trade and investment relations.
