The Kazakh Energy Ministry has refuted recent media reports claiming that oil shipments through the Black Sea were halted following a decree by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“As of today, the shipment of Kazakh oil through the seaports of the Russian Federation has not been suspended,” the ministry said in an official statement, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazakh media.
The ministry also commented on the situation at the Ust-Luga port, noting that enhanced security measures are currently being implemented to strengthen the protection of critical transport infrastructure. In this regard, KazTransOil company is holding talks with Nevskiy Pipeline Company to ensure uninterrupted logistics.
In parallel, Kazakhstan’s government has endorsed a long-term Concept for the Development of the Oil Processing Sector for 2025-2040, which aims to enhance the sector’s competitiveness in light of the global energy transition.
