Oil Policy Steady: Kazakhstan Rules Out Leaving OPEC+

Kazakhstan has no plans to withdraw from the OPEC+ agreement, officials have confirmed, despite recent speculation about possible changes within the alliance.

The statement was made by Asel Serikpaeva, adviser to the energy minister and official spokesperson for the Ministry of Energy, who said the issue is not currently on the agenda, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

“Today, the question of changing the country’s participation format in the alliance is not being considered,” she said, referring to Kazakhstan’s role in the broader cooperation between oil-producing nations.

The OPEC+ framework brings together members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and other major oil producers, including Kazakhstan, to coordinate output levels and stabilize global oil markets.

The clarification comes after reports that the United Arab Emirates had considered leaving OPEC and the wider OPEC+ arrangement, raising questions about the future dynamics of the group.
