Police officers in Kazakhstan have dismantled a large underground drug laboratory operating in a remote village in the East Kazakhstan Region.
During an intelligence-led operation, law enforcement officers stopped the activities of two suspects aged 26 and 22 who were involved in synthetic drug production, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Investigators say the group purchased a private house on the outskirts of a secluded settlement, where they set up a covert facility to manufacture synthetic narcotics for distribution.
Police reported that around 250,000 single doses of drugs were prevented from entering illegal circulation. This represents potentially hundreds of lives protected from harm.
The suspects now face serious criminal charges. If convicted, they could face lengthy prison sentences, including life imprisonment.
