Kazakhstan's Almaty Joins World Tourism Alliance, Boosting Its Global Travel Profile

Kazakhstan's Almaty city has officially become a member of the World Tourism Alliance (WTA), marking a major step in strengthening its global tourism profile.

The membership certificate was presented during the Xianghu Dialogue 2025 in Hangzhou, China - one of the world’s key platforms for shaping the future of international tourism, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.

According to the Almaty city administration, the WTA unites government institutions, businesses, and experts to support tourism development worldwide. The organization conducts research, provides strategic consulting, trains specialists, and promotes stronger cooperation between the public and private sectors.

This move positions Almaty alongside other global tourism hubs and opens new opportunities for partnerships, international visibility, and expertise exchange.

Earlier, on October 30, 2024, Astana also joined the World Tourism Alliance under the Visit Astana brand - signaling Kazakhstan’s growing influence in the global travel industry.
