Kazakhstan Sends Massive Flax Seed Shipment to China

Kazakhstan has delivered 1,767 tons of flax seeds by rail to Yinchuan, the administrative center of China’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

The shipment crossed the China-Kazakhstan border via the Khorgos checkpoint and was transported under a bonded regime to the southern freight yard of Yinchuan Railway Logistics Center, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

From there, the flax seeds were moved by road to the city’s comprehensive bonded zone for processing.

“The produced flax oil will be sold in Yinchuan and nearby markets,” the Ministry of Agriculture said. Ningxia is a key region in China for processing and consuming flax seeds.

The Ministry of Agriculture noted that the launch of rail shipments between China and Central Asian states has reduced delivery time and costs while ensuring stable supplies for agro-industrial enterprises.
