Mussayev outlined recent reforms in Kazakhstan’s science and technology sector, including the adoption of a new law on scientific and technological policy, increased funding for research, expanded support for young scientists, and enhanced international cooperation.

The Spanish side shared CSIC’s experience in fostering interdisciplinary research and invited Kazakh scientists to participate in the Plataformas Temáticas Interdisciplinares (PTI) - thematic platforms that bring together experts from various disciplines to address global challenges.

Both parties discussed potential involvement in international grant programs, such as Horizon Europe, as well as opportunities for joint research initiatives and academic exchanges.
