Kazakhstan to Launch Three Satellites Into Orbit

Kazakhstan is preparing to send three of its own satellites into orbit in 2027 as part of an ambitious push to expand its national space capabilities.

Kaiyrzhan Kozhayev, head of the Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary national company, said that assembly and testing of the spacecraft will begin in mid-2026, with the goal of completing the project and launching the satellites in early 2027, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

The upcoming satellites are set to replace an earlier spacecraft developed with European partners and launched in 2014, marking a shift toward greater domestic production.

Kozhayev also noted that this is only the beginning of a broader plan. By 2029-2030, Kazakhstan aims to launch three additional satellites, creating a full orbital constellation of six spacecraft.

The development of the first three satellites has been funded with 18 billion tenge (about $37.5 million) from the national budget.
