Kazakhstan to Unify State IT Systems Under QazTech

Kazakhstan’s government has held a meeting to advance the transition to a platform-based digitalization model, in line with a presidential decree.

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Development and Artificial Intelligence Zhaslan Madiyev, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Representatives of central government bodies, regional administrations, and national holdings and companies took part in the discussions. The key focus was the mandatory transition of government agencies and quasi-public sector organizations to the national e-government information and communications platform, QazTech.

Starting in early 2026, a moratorium will be imposed on the creation of new information systems outside the QazTech platform. Digital development will proceed within a unified architecture to avoid duplication of functions and inefficient budget spending.

The shift to a platform-based model is expected to consolidate government digital services and data, reduce redundant IT systems, and ensure scalability, security, and technological compatibility of digital solutions. Deadlines were set for the migration of all departmental information systems to QazTech, with the process scheduled to be completed by September 30.

“Our task is to build a stable, unified, and efficient digital state platform where digital solutions function as an integrated system rather than as fragmented projects,” Madiyev said.

Kazakhstan has declared 2026 the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence.
