Kazakhstan and the US have reaffirmed their long-standing energy partnership during talks at the ADIPEC 2025 International Energy Forum in the UAE.
Kazakhstan’s Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov met with US Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum, also Chairman of the National Energy Dominance Council, to discuss ways to build on over 30 years of successful cooperation, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Akkenzhenov highlighted that US companies were among the first investors in Kazakhstan and remain key partners in major projects including Tengiz, Karachaganak, and Kashagan.
“Projects implemented in Kazakhstan are key assets in the global portfolios of our American partners. Their scale underscores Kazakhstan’s strategic importance in ensuring global energy stability,” Akkenzhenov said.
The meeting also focused on oil transportation and the stable operation of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), Kazakhstan’s main export route.
Doug Burgum praised Kazakhstan’s favorable investment climate and reaffirmed US commitment to expanding cooperation in energy sector digitalization, while noting the success of American oil and gas companies in the country.
This meeting comes ahead of the C5+1 Summit in Washington on November 6, where US President Donald Trump is set to hold talks with the leaders of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
