New Visa-Free Rules Set to Boost Tourism and Investment in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan plans to expand and simplify its visa-free regime as part of a draft resolution unveiled by the Interior Ministry, aimed at boosting international tourism, investment, and diplomatic ties.

Under the proposed changes, citizens of 56 countries will be able to enter Kazakhstan without a visa for up to 30 days per visit, and no more than 90 days in total within a 180-day period, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazakh media.

The list includes countries such as the US, UK, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, Canada, Australia, and the UAE.

Citizens of India and Iran will be permitted to stay visa-free for up to 14 days per visit, with a limit of 42 days within 180 days.

Meanwhile, Turkish nationals will benefit from the most generous terms, with a visa-free stay of up to 90 days within any 180-day period. The ministry emphasized that the extended access for Türkiye reflects the country’s role as a key partner in trade, investment, and regional diplomacy.

“The aim of the initiative is to strengthen cooperation with Türkiye, create a favorable investment and tourism environment, and activate economic diplomacy,” the ministry said in an official statement.

This move is part of Kazakhstan’s broader strategy to improve transport links, facilitate business operations, and attract global visitors and investors. Over 7.5 million foreign tourists visited Kazakhstan in the first half of 2025, demonstrating renewed international interest in the country.

If adopted, the updated visa policy is expected to enhance Kazakhstan’s global accessibility, foster deeper economic partnerships, and promote cross-border engagement across multiple sectors.
