President Tokayev: Kazakhstan Should Become the Most Advanced State

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed the youth forum "Jana Adamdar" (New People).

Assel Badenova, the leader of the movement, briefed President Tokayev on the results of the activities of “Jana Adamdar”, The Caspian Post reports citing Kazinform.

According to her, the organization has about 15,000 young activists and campuses in 19 cities countrywide. To date, they have organized dozens of civic initiatives and campaigns. Young people are fighting against vandalism, illegal dumps, the sale of alcoholic beverages to minors, drug trafficking, and other social ills, openly and actively expressing their civic position.

In his address to the forum participants, the Head of State expressed his gratitude to the youth who truly care about the fate of their motherland. He noted that he rejoices in their successes and supports every initiative of young compatriots.

“I always say that the youth of Kazakhstan are creative. Wonderful ideas and good beginnings have been expressed [at the forum]. Listening to your speeches, inhaling the atmosphere of the forum, I feel an incredibly strong sense of pride for our youth and confidence in the future of Kazakhstan,” President Tokayev highlighted, adding that the future of our country is in the hands of intellectual, educated, and forward-thinking youth.

The President went on to call the current period in our country's history ‘a turning point’ and pointed out that the society faces challenging tasks.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the importance of patriotic spirit, the establishment of the rule of Law and Order in the society, and the environmental campaign “Taza Qazaqstan”.

In his opinion, only determined citizens capable of taking responsibility can faithfully serve the country.

“All conditions are being created for the youth. Kazakhstan is one of the few countries in the world where children and youth receive comprehensive support from the state. From birth, each child automatically becomes a participant in national programs. As you know, in the past two years part of the National Fund's income is credited to children's accounts. Upon reaching adulthood, they can use this money for education or buying housing. For children from five years old, there is the “Keleshek” program, which helps parents save money for their children's future education. From six or seven years old, every child receives guaranteed free school education. The state takes on all these obligations. Not all countries in the world have this,” said the President, urging the forum participants to appreciate what they have.

He reminded that elementary schoolchidren are provided with free meals. Children can attend various clubs and sections at the state's expense. School graduates have the opportunity to get a grant to enter a university or college. In recent years, in his words, Kazakhstan has significantly increased the number of grants. Through the “Bolashak” program, thousands of young people study abroad. They will return to Kazakhstan and contribute to the development of our country. The 'Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve' has become a sought-after project. It allows attracting young specialists who will form the core of future state managers.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also touched upon recent political reforms, as part of which special quotas for youth have been introduced in the elections to the Majilis and maslikhats. According to him, this has given new impetus to the activities of representative bodies of power.

“I believe that the educated, patriotic young people present here will surely become part of either maslikhats, Parliament, or perhaps even work in the Government. Special attention is paid to supporting young entrepreneurs and young families, for whom, for example, preferential loans for business development and housing purchase are provided. And this is just a small part of the programs and projects aimed at creating broad opportunities for the self-realization of children and youth,” emphasized the President.

According to the Head of State, there are many qualified specialists in the country who meet modern requirements: teachers, doctors, scientists, engineers, workers, and others. The youth of Kazakhstan also excels in the creative industry.

“Thanks to the success of our citizens, Kazakhstan is increasingly recognized worldwide as a country of talented and hardworking people. The state will actively promote the development of the creative industry,” said Tokayev, announcing the establishment of a special fund to support projects in literature, music, cinema, TV series, and computer games.
