President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has met with Board Chairman of Power International Holding (PIH) Moutaz Al-Khayyat and Board Vice-Chairman & President Ramez Al-Khayyat at the Akorda to discuss joint investment opportunities in energy and telecommunications.
The meeting highlighted large-scale gas projects in processing, transportation, and energy production as a cornerstone of the Kazakhstan-Qatar investment ties, strengthening Kazakhstan’s energy security, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
PIH also revealed plans to expand into the telecommunications market through its acquisition of Mobile Telecom Service (Tele2). President Tokayev expressed confidence that the move would modernize Kazakhstan’s telecom infrastructure, enhance service quality, and increase accessibility for citizens.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation and implementing promising investment projects.
