Russia sharply increased its car exports to Kazakhstan in 2025, doubling passenger vehicle shipments compared to the previous year.
In monetary terms, Russian car exports to Kazakhstan reached $62.8 million, reflecting significant growth amid shifting regional trade dynamics. However, the figure still falls well below the record set in 2022, when exports peaked at $129.2 million, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.
Despite the surge, Russia remains a relatively minor player in Kazakhstan’s automotive import market. China dominated vehicle supplies in 2025, accounting for 50 per cent of total car imports, followed by Japan with a 28 per cent share. Russia’s contribution stood at just 2 per cent, underscoring the overwhelming dominance of Asian manufacturers.
