The police officers in Kazakhstan have dismantled a large-scale illegal snus production network in the Turkestan region, uncovering underground factories capable of supplying millions of nicotine doses nationwide.
Investigators discovered three clandestine production facilities operating across hundreds of square meters. The sites employed dozens of workers and were reportedly distributing snus products across the country through an extensive illegal supply chain, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
During the operation, police officers seized more than one million ready-to-sell nicotine pouches and approximately 30 tons of tobacco. Officials said the confiscated materials were enough to produce up to 60 million doses, highlighting the massive scale of the illicit business.
Law enforcement officers also confiscated vehicles purchased using profits from the illegal tobacco trade, as part of efforts to dismantle the financial infrastructure behind the operation.
