Search in Almaty Mountains Ends with Two Tourists Found Dead

Rescue teams in the mountains near Almaty, Kazakhstan have discovered the bodies of two more tourists from a group that had earlier gone missing during a climb.

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that the bodies were found in the area of Lokomotiv Peak at an altitude of around 3,700 meters above sea level, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Earlier, search-and-rescue teams had located the body of another member of the same group.

As a result, all three people from the group are confirmed dead, the ministry said.

Emergency officials noted that the search operation was carried out under difficult high-altitude conditions.
