Tokayev Hails Rapid Transformation in Kazakhstan’s Villages

During a meeting with rural governors, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has highlighted major progress taking place across Kazakhstan’s villages.

He noted that in recent years the country has taken comprehensive steps to raise living standards in rural communities, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.

In 2022, Kazakhstan launched a wide-ranging plan to boost household income, followed by the approval of a five-year regional development concept earlier this year.

Since 2021, the government has built 864 primary healthcare facilities in villages and opened 388 new schools. Nearly 2,000 rural schools received high-speed internet last year alone.

President Tokayev emphasized that rural potential continues to strengthen. The number of self-sufficient villages is growing, and agricultural output has increased more than 1.5 times in six years, reaching 8.3 trillion tenge ($16 billion). This year, the government allocated 1 trillion tenge ($1.936 billion) to support farmers - a level of assistance matched by only a few countries worldwide.
