Trade Turnover Between Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan Nears $100M Amid Robust Growth

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Trade and Integration has announced that trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan surged by 43.5 per cent during the first quarter of 2025, reaching nearly $100 million.

Kazakhstan’s exports to Kyrgyzstan increased by 44.3 per cent to $80.1 million, while imports from Kyrgyzstan grew by 39 per cent to $19.8 million compared to the same period in 2024, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

For the entire 2024 fiscal year, bilateral trade between the two countries amounted to $350.9 million, marking an 8.4 per cent growth from 2023.

The data was presented by Baglan Bekbauov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, at a meeting of the Kazakh-Kyrgyz working group focused on agricultural cooperation. The parties discussed plans to enhance mutual agricultural product supplies through a strategic program set for 2024-2025.

Among key projects is the planned pilot agricultural exhibition of Kyrgyz products in Astana. Additionally, the two countries agreed on measures to optimize trade between Kyrgyzstan’s Talas region and Kazakhstan’s Zhambyl region, including efforts to boost cargo traffic at border checkpoints.
