Travel Between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Gets Easier with New Flight

Travel between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan is set to become even easier as FlyArystan launches a new direct route linking Urgench and Almaty.

The Kazakh low-cost carrier will begin operating flights on the Urgench-Almaty-Urgench route from September 3, 2026. Services will run twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays, The Caspian Post reports via UzDaily.

The new connection is expected to strengthen transport links between the two neighboring countries, creating new opportunities for tourism, business travel and family visits.

Urgench serves as the main air gateway to the Khorezm region and is a key entry point for visitors heading to the historic city of Khiva, one of Central Asia’s most famous tourist destinations and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Passengers will also benefit from convenient onward connections through Almaty to destinations across FlyArystan’s growing international network.

FlyArystan, the low-cost subsidiary of Air Astana, has been steadily expanding air links between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan since its launch in 2019. The airline currently operates flights between Almaty and Samarkand, as well as Astana and Tashkent.
