VietJet Qazaqstan Halts Astana–Omsk Flights Amid Drone Concerns

VietJet Qazaqstan has temporarily suspended flights between Astana, Kazakhstan, and Omsk, Russia, citing drone activity in the region.

The airline said the suspension will remain in effect from July 9 to July 20, 2026, while ticket sales on the route have been halted through the end of August, The Caspian Post reports via informburo.kz.

Passengers affected by the cancellations are being offered either a full refund or an alternative travel option. The revised itinerary includes a flight from Astana to Petropavlovsk, followed by a bus transfer to Omsk, with the same arrangement available for return trips.

Before the temporary suspension, VietJet Qazaqstan operated two daily flights between Astana and Omsk.
