China Plans Up to $1B Wind Power Investment in Kyrgyzstan

China is preparing to invest up to $1 billion in renewable energy projects in Kyrgyzstan, focusing on large-scale solar and wind power development.

The announcement came after a meeting between Kyrgyz officials and a delegation from China Energy Engineering Corporation, The Caspian Post reports via Kabar.

The two sides discussed cooperation in renewable energy and potential investment projects, while Kyrgyz officials presented updates on the country’s investment climate and state support mechanisms.

Renewable energy is a national priority and that the country remains open to international partnerships across all stages of project implementation.

The Chinese side expressed readiness to finance projects with a total capacity of up to 700 megawatts, including 500 MW of solar power and 200 MW of wind energy.
