The second Toguz Korgool World Championships for boys and girls has wrapped up in Almaty, Kazakhstan, attracting a record 180 young athletes from 21 countries.
This marks a notable increase from the inaugural 2023 championship, which saw players from 17 nations, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
The tournament featured three competitive disciplines, each testing players’ strategic thinking and speed of calculation. Kyrgyzstan was represented by 24 athletes from seven regions.
The standout result came from Upol Abdymomunova in the U15 (standard) category, who secured Kyrgyzstan’s only gold medal. In total, Kyrgyz players earned 13 bronze medals, showcasing strong performance across the board.
