Kyrgyz Minister of Education Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva has met with an Austrian delegation to explore new opportunities for cooperation in vocational, technical, and tourism education.
The Austrian delegation included representatives from the Federal Ministry of Finance, leading educational institutions, and a diplomatic adviser from the Austrian Agency for Economic Cooperation and Development, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
During the talks, both sides discussed expanding partnerships with Austria’s Montanuniversität Leoben and the Klessheim Tourism College. The Austrian side expressed readiness to assist in developing modern curricula, providing expert support, and delivering specialized lectures on tourism and hotel management.
Kendirbaeva emphasized that strengthening tourism education is a strategic priority for Kyrgyzstan, especially for a mountainous country seeking to unlock its tourism potential in line with international standards.
At the end of the meeting, the sides signed an agreement to establish a joint working group between the Kyrgyz Ministry of Education and the Austrian Agency for Economic Cooperation and Development - a step expected to accelerate new collaborative projects.
