Kyrgyz President Visits Ulan Children’s Health Center, Highlights Social Care Revival

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov visited the Ulan Children’s Health Center and took part in a ceremony celebrating the 10th anniversary of the State Mortgage Company in the village of Toru-Aygyr, located in the Issyk-Kul Region.

During the visit, the president toured several newly renovated facilities, including the dormitory, canteen, and recently constructed cottages, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

Originally opened in 1969, the Ulan Health Center had traditionally operated only during the summer, providing seasonal care and recreation for children from across the country. President Japarov noted that the center was once among Kyrgyzstan’s leading summer camps for children, but like many other state-run health institutions, it had fallen into disrepair and become unprofitable over the past three decades.

In response, the government established a special directorate under the Presidential Affairs Department-the Directorate for the Management of Sanatorium, Health, and Tourism Facilities-tasked with revitalizing such institutions. This body has assumed responsibility for several key facilities, including Kogultur Issyk-Kul, Jalal-Abad, Jeti-Oguz, Issyk-Ata, and the Ulan Children’s Health Center, initiating a phased program of reconstruction and modernization to restore their full functionality and public benefit.
