Students from Kyrgyzstan now have a chance to pursue higher education in Europe, as Romania opens applications for its government-funded scholarship program for the 2026/27 academic year.
According to the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovation, the program offers opportunities across bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels in a wide range of fields-excluding medicine, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
Successful applicants will receive full financial support, including free tuition, accommodation in university dormitories, and monthly stipends, making it an attractive option for students seeking international education.
For those who do not speak Romanian, the program also includes a free preparatory year to learn the language before starting their studies.
To qualify, candidates must demonstrate strong academic performance, with a minimum GPA equivalent to 4.0 (or 7 under the Romanian grading system).
