Kyrgyz, Turkish Officials Explore Stronger Agricultural and Trade Ties

Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Bakyt Torobaev, has held a meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Mekin Mustafa Kemal Okem to discuss strengthening bilateral ties in agriculture and trade.

The discussions centered on eliminating technical trade barriers and the potential introduction of preferential customs conditions to facilitate the export of Kyrgyz agricultural products to the Turkish market, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kyrgyz media.

The two sides reaffirmed the commitment made by their national leaders to increase bilateral trade volume to $5 billion, a target that calls for systematic collaboration between relevant agencies.

The meeting also highlighted the role of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) in advancing social and economic development projects in Kyrgyzstan.
