Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has called on Washington to consider easing visa requirements for Kyrgyz citizens seeking to travel to the US.
Japarov raised the issue during a meeting with Sergio Gor, the US special envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs, according to the Kyrgyz president’s press service.
The Kyrgyz president stressed the need to simplify visa procedures for citizens of Kyrgyzstan who want to visit the US.
Particular attention was given to the possibility of finding practical solutions to existing visa requirements, including the visa bond, a financial deposit that may be required from certain applicants.
Japarov also proposed reviewing the relevant restrictions as part of broader efforts to make travel between Kyrgyzstan and the US more accessible.
